MEET OUR NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Our non-executive directors provide an independent oversight regarding how the company is run. Their role is to provide a creative contribution and objective criticism to discussions with the Senior Management Team. They also contribute to the development strategy of the services provided by Direct Mediation Services, but not to the day-to-day running of the company.
David Leckie is the founder (1993) and CEO of Mind Matters Counselling LLP. The practice has over 650 counselling and CBT health professionals supporting NHS, corporate and private clients in both the UK and Netherlands. David is also a Family Mediation Council accredited mediator. He is the Global Director of DivorceHotel, a long established Dutch concept helping clients to divorce positively/consciously with fixed fees and timescales. Operating in the Netherlands, USA and the UK (with TV shows sold in 5 countries).
Julie Farrell is an accredited mediator, Professional Practice Consultant, Restorative Justice Facilitator, Conflict Coach and Trainer. Julie is a full-time mediator with over 12-years mediation experienced. She is registered with the Civil Mediation Council and a member / board director of the College of Mediators. Julie is a partner in Solution Talk LLP, which specialises in mediation, restorative justice conflict coaching and training services. Prior to this, she worked within a local authority mediation service.
Nick Hayes has a proven track record in international recruitment spanning over 20 years at a strategic level primarily in the healthcare sector. Nick has managed a broad spectrum of clients. His major clients have included Queensland Health (Australia), Department of Health (Australia), ACT Health (Australia), National Healthcare Group (Singapore), Sharjah Teaching Hospital (UAE), NHS (United Kingdom). Nick has focused on internet technologies related to the recruitment industry, and is currently executive director of Global Career Networks (Singapore and United Kingdom).
SHOLEM DOV SALZMAN
Sholem Dov Salzman has worked in a variety of settings, with children, as a Head Teacher, with vulnerable adults as Director of a Mental Health Hostel and is presently a Mental Health Act Manager covering several health areas. He is a member of the College of Mediators and registered with the Family Mediation Council. Sholem also works in the Orthodox Jewish Community (Chareidi) as a Rabbi and also a specialist mediator helping Jewish couples with the arrangements of the Jewish GET (Religious Divorce).
Paul Philbert studied at Trinity College of Music, London, during the time he was the President of the College’s Students’ Union. Having completed his postgraduate studies, he began working as a freelance musician in the UK and abroad. He has performed with many professional orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Philharmonia, BBC Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic to name but a few. He is currently the Principal Timpanist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra
Laura Kirkpatrick has over 16 years’ experience working in the field of conflict resolution and is a Mediator (Civil Mediation Council Registered / Accredited with College of Mediators), Professional Practice Consultant, Trainer and Restorative Justice Facilitator. She is a Partner at Solution Talk LLP. She was appointed to the board of the Midlands Mediation Network as the Events Coordinator in March 2015, followed by appointment as a Director to the College of Mediators in October 2015.
